Leadership Development: Ameritech
The Organizational Development consulting group assigned to Information
Technology at Ameritech designed a leadership development curriculum
responding to a needs assessment administered in 1998. Apples and
Oranges Service with a Connections Booklet was a primary focus of
the development along with Blanchard’s Situational Leadership
and an internal performance management program. 400 IT managers
attended the learning from February 1999 through August 1999. Level
3 evaluation results of the program indicated that 60% of the respondents
to Business Connections (Apples and Oranges) produced a high degree
of improvement in their performance, 20% a medium degree and 8%
a low degree.
Management Development: Computer Sciences Corporation
Tango has been adopted as the cornerstone to the Business Leader’s
Development Workshop for high potential leaders since August 2000.
An additional day incorporates evaluation of management competencies
along with designing a developmental plan.
Culture Change: Owens Corning
The Customer Operations North America Division was looking for
an effective method to gain support for their cultural shift to
a financial measured environment to support shareholder value. Apples
and Oranges Service, a Connections Booklet and reinforcement exercises
were delivered as the cornerstone of the intervention.
Culture Change: Giant Food, Inc.
After being purchased by Royal Ahold, the regional food retailer
increased its focus on management of the profit and loss statement
at the store level. Apples and Oranges Retail/Distribution and a
Connections Booklet was delivered to over 200 store managers and
district managers from February to April 2001. The results of the
implementation created an opportunity for a custom project based
on their store inventory reports and a custom delivery project for
Ahold USA.
Culture Change: Ahold USA
EVA (Economic Value Added) was adopted as a major management initiative
by Ahold USA. Apples and Oranges Retail/Distribution, a Connections
Booklet and custom train the trainer was designed to be implemented
across each of the operating companies to build essential knowledge
about the elements of EVA and the link to daily activity to increase
the measure.
Culture Change: Kraft Foods
Building a high performance work system required continuous improvement
suggestions from all levels of associates in plant operations. Kraft
has adopted Apples and Oranges Manufacturing, a Connections Booklet
and a custom train the trainer to support its employee business
knowledge initiative.
Open Enrollment: Eli Lilly
Apples and Oranges Manufacturing, a Connections Booklet and an
international implementation with a custom train the trainer program
are part of the management development curriculum.
Open Enrollment: Household International
Associates throughout Household are encouraged to attend the bi-monthly
deliveries of Apples and Oranges Service with a Connections Booklet.
Up to 30 individuals participate in the sessions with an established
waiting list.
Supply Chain: John Deere
Apples and Oranges Manufacturing and a Connections Booklet is offered
through the supplier network of John Deere as part of a grants program
for learning and development. Suppliers are able to attend open
sessions or create a session specific for their organization.
